Summer Cleaning: Volunteers to Spruce Up District 5 Neighborhoods
Weeding, Cleaning and Graffiti Abatement on Tap for Saturday Morning Workday
San Francisco, CA – More than 400 dedicated volunteers will join Mayor London Breed, Supervisor Vallie Brown and Public Works crews on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at this month’s Community Clean Team event to clean and green the Western Addition, Haight-Ashbury, Hayes Valley, Alamo Square and other District 5 neighborhoods.

- Kickoff location: Stanyan and Waller streets skate park, east end of Golden Gate Park
- Who: Mayor London Breed, Supervisor Vallie Brown, volunteers and City crews
Photo opportunities include:
- Painting the Webster Street pedestrian bridge
- Planting trees on Sutter and Webster streets,
- Sweeping up leaves and debris on Haight Street, from Stanyan to Waller streets
- Landscaping Divisadero Street medians, from Oak to Hayes streets
Community Clean Team visits a different supervisorial district each month where students, families, friends and co-workers join together to flex their civic pride by sprucing up and beautifying their neighborhoods.
The program’s success relies on the many sponsors and volunteer organizations that pitch in. They include 76, Starbucks, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Friends of the Urban Forest, PG&E, The Garden Project, Emerald Fund, Recology, Fix-It Team SF, Academy of Art University, United Playaz, Mission Neighborhood Centers, Walgreens, The Garden Project, San Francisco Clean City Coalition, Local 261, San Francisco Parks Alliance, San Francisco Housing Authority, San Francisco Pretrial Diversion Project, San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, Community Youth Center San Francisco, San Francisco Unified School District, Tzu-Chi Foundation, SF Geo Care and SF Environment.
