Project Description:
San Francisco Public Works hired M Squared Construction, Inc., to complete sewer main replacement and pavement renovation work along Evans Ave. between Cesar Chavez St. and Hunters Point Blvd. In addition to sewer main replacement work, the project included curb ramp installation, street base repairs and repaving.
The work sequence included replacement of the sewer main followed by any laterals (connection between mainline and curb). Laterals were only replaced on an as-needed basis. Our engineers reviewed video of the laterals to determine which ones should be replaced. Once the sewer lateral work was complete, crews began preparations to repave. Preparations included installation of curb ramps at the intersections and replacement of any damaged/broken concrete street base which is located underneath the asphalt roadway. Once that work was complete, the contractor performed final paving.
The entire project was completed in 2019.
